Getting your tracker set up and running, with speed and simplicity in mind.

Powering Your Device

The Wired 425 will receive its power directly from the vehicle using the wiring kit included. Once wired in and the vehicle is powered on, the device would start to receive the current and begin to track. Note that the device will often only track consistently when the vehicle is powered on.

Downloading the App

  1. Download the “Logistimatics” app:
  2. Tap install. You may need to enter your Google Play or Apple ID password to download the app. If you have not installed an app before, you will be asked by Google or Apple to enter your credit card information.
  3. Once installed, open the app and login with the same email and password you used when purchasing the device.

Getting Started

When the device begins to receive power after wiring it in, allow it a few minutes to find that initial signal to report your location. You will want to ensure it can get a clear view of the sky for this first report if possible.

The tracker can report its position two ways: a precise GPS location and an approximate location based on nearby cell towers.

An approximate location will be issued if the device isn’t able to get a clear signal to report, isn’t receiving power, or has been stationary for a period of time. The device will report its location based on nearby cell tower positions, these positions are indicated by a white pin and a large blue circle, showing the approximate location. If the device cannot get a clear signal for a standard GPS report because it is in a garage, for instance, it will often issue a cell fix as a result.

What Reporting Looks Like

These reporting modes can be changed by going to the Commands tab on the larger tracking map page in the mobile app or on the tracking website: Tracking Website.

After selecting View on a particular tracker, Commands would be listed at the bottom of that page in the app. From Commands, you can select New to select a reporting frequency.

If you are using the Tracking Website, you can scroll until you see the commands tab on the left of the page. The dropdown menu will allow you to select different reporting modes.

A. 30 second reporting

30 second tracking is useful for exact traces as a car travels

B. Cell fix

A cell fix gives only an approximate location when GPS reporting is turned off or the Wired 425 cannot get a good view of the sky

Wired 425 stopped tracking

Either the tracker is not receiving power or it may have moved into an area of limited 4G or 2G cell coverage. The Wired 425 runs on both 4G, and 2G networks depending on availability in the area. Running on those bands allows the device to use less power, but still issue an accurate report.

View 4G coverage map.

Be sure to select just the top two options listed for LTE coverage, leaving the other options unchecked. In the coverage map, areas listed as “Partner” coverage would not be supported by the device. The device would likely not report reliably in those areas.

Wired 425 is not showing its exact location

Often times when the device is not reporting an accurate position or is currently issuing a cell fix as shown below. It would be due to the tracker not being able to access a clear signal to report. This would be remedied by bringing the device back into an area with strong coverage.

The signal can sometimes wander on the map as well, particularly when stationary. This is normal for GPS trackers, and the position will often resolve when it begins to move again and pick up the signal.
