What is a Geofence?

A geofence is a virtual boundary set up around a specific geographic area, often used to track mobile assets like vehicles, employees, or equipment. This guide will help you navigate the process step by step.


How to create a Geofence?

On the Mobile App:

  1. Open the app on your device.

  2. Navigate to Menu > Geofences > New Geofence.

  3. Customize the geofence according to your needs and tap Save.

On the Web App:

  1. Open a web browser and go to app.logistimatics.com (log in if necessary).

  2. Select Geofences > Create Geofence from the menu bar.

  3. Customize the geofence according to your needs and click Save.


Managing Geofence Alerts

To get notifications when your tracker enters or exits the geofence, you'll need to ensure alerts are enabled.

On the Mobile App:

  1. From the main page, select the thumbnail of the tracker you want to receive alerts for.

  2. Tap Alerts > Menu [•••].

  3. Under 'Alert Types,' make sure 'Notify on geofence enter/exit' is ON.

  4. Under 'Channels,' set the methods by which you want to receive alerts.

On the Web App:

  1. Navigate to Alerts from the menu bar.

  2. Check your preferred methods of receiving alerts/notifications.

  3. Click Update Notifications.

Editing, Deleting, and Managing a Geofence

You can manage your geofences through the web app by following these steps:

  1. Log in at gps.logistimatics.com and select Geofences.

  2. Choose the Geofence you want to manage or create a new one if necessary.

  3. Click Edit to change the name, address, shape, or size of the Geofence.

  4. Remember to click Save after any changes.
